Bob co-founded Berntson Porter in 1985 and has more than 32 years of experience helping clients identify, clarify and achieve their organizational and personal goals. He is responsible for the firm’s long-term strategic vision and implementation. Under his management, Berntson Porter has become a recognized leader in tax, accounting, and a wide variety of consulting services.
Practice specialties include strategic business planning, estate and wealth planning, and transaction and succession advisory.
Bob is actively involved in numerous organizations, including Vistage Worldwide, PrimeGlobal, and the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Greg co-founded Berntson Porter and is the chair of the consulting departments as well as President of Berntson Porter Wealth Management, LLC. In addition to Greg’s tax and consulting work, he is well known for his work in the Forensic, Economic and Valuation Services Group as an expert witness (PDF) and impartial Special Master to the court.
Mr. Porter has served on numerous boards of directors, including the Washington Policy Center, Gen Next, WSU College of Business National Board of Advisors and the Northwest Wine Benefit Foundation, dba Auction of Washington Wines.
Greg was recognized as a “40 under Forty” honoree by the Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ) in 1999. He also played football for Washington State University, where he was named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Team.
Mary is President of Berntson Porter & Company and oversees firm operations. Additionally, Mary is a member of the Assurance Services Department where she provides technical leadership, management, and approval of audited, reviewed and compiled financial statements.
Practice specialties include construction, real estate development, distribution and manufacturing, technology, and employee benefit plan (EBP) audits. Mary is a member of the lean implementation team at Berntson Porter and has been involved in numerous lean studies.
Mary is actively involved in numerous organizations, including PrimeGlobal, the AICPA and the WSCPA. She also serves on the Gonzaga University Accounting Advisory Board.
Allan is the leader of Business Transition, M&A Advising and Business Valuation. He is a Certified Merger & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He has retired his CPA and Certified Exit Planner certificates.
Client and practice specialties include business owner exit and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions advisory, and business valuations. Allan works with a variety of industries including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, professional services, real estate, construction, technology, and retail.
Allan has presented to various associations on the topics of business owner exit strategies, transition strategies, and business valuations. He was a member of the AICPA and WSCPA, where he was a past Chairman of the WSCPA Business Valuation and Litigation Support Committee.
Dave’s practice encompasses a broad range of tax planning, tax compliance and consulting on financial and business matters for closely held businesses and high net worth individuals. He also serves as one of the firm’s experts on the Federal Research & Development (R&D) tax credit.
Dave is actively involved in Berntson Porter’s Wholesale Distribution and Manufacturing Services practice. In this role he is active as a presenter and speaker covering various federal tax topics. He has also developed a specialty practice focused on the growing wine industry.
Dave is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA.
David Rogiers is a Principal in the Assurance Services Department at Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC. In this capacity, David is responsible for the oversight of audit, review and compilation engagements and consulting, focusing on closely held business in the Puget Sound region.
David’s practice specialties include Construction, Real Estate Development, Wholesale Product Distribution and Manufacturing, and Technology.
Additionally, David oversees the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Practice Group, driving the growth, marketing and technical advancement of the group. David is actively involved with many firm activities, including being the firm’s quality control director.
Eric is a member of the Tax Department where he works with a variety of clients across a wide range of industries performing tax analysis, tax review and tax preparation.
Client and practice specialties include construction, real estate development, homebuilders and technology. Eric is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA. Also, Eric currently serves on the Young Professionals Advisory Board of the Washington Policy Center. Additionally, he is the Education Committee Chair for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
Jenn is a member of the Assurance Services Department where she provides management and approval of audited, reviewed and compiled financial statements for closely-held businesses. Jenn consults with her clients on a variety of issues including inventory management.
She also leads Berntson Porter’s Transaction Services practice, which guides clients through the M&A process, helping buyers identify and evaluate opportunities for growth, improved market share and strategic alignment.
Jenn’s client and practice specialties include wholesale distribution, manufacturing, construction, hospitality and professional services as well as employee benefit plan (EBP) audits.
Jenn is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA. She also currently serves as Board Treasurer for the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS).
John is a member of the Tax Department and his practice focuses on planning with closely held business owners as well as high net worth individuals to help identify and implement strategies to achieve both short and long-term goals.
Clients include residential and commercial real estate developers, homebuilders, real estate property managers and investors, and professional service providers.
John is a member of the AICPA, WSCPA, the East King County Estate Planning Council, and the Seattle University Gift Planning Council.
Kaylene Bresnahan is a Principal at Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC. As a Tax Principal, Kaylene is involved with a wide variety of the firm’s clients across a wide range of industries performing tax analysis, tax review and tax preparation. She currently oversees the firm’s Technology Practice Group, driving the growth, marketing and technical advancement of the group.
Additionally, Kaylene is involved with many firm-building activities, including campus recruiting, co-chairing the philanthropy committee, hiring and training – as well as running the Tax Department’s internship program.
Liting is a member of the Tax Department where she serves as leader of the International Consultancy Group. Liting’s practice encompasses a broad range of business and individual tax planning, domestic and international tax and financial compliance and consulting.
Her client and practice expertise includes professional services, real estate development and management, high net worth individuals, inbound and outbound international taxation and consultation, as well as expatriate consultation.
Liting is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA.
Mike serves as Director of the Tax Department. His practice encompasses a broad range of business and individual tax planning, domestic and international tax compliance and consulting for closely-held businesses.
Client and practice specialties include construction, real estate development, wholesale distribution, manufacturing and professional services.
Mike is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA and previously served on the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Board of Trustees.
Nicole (Nikki) is a Principal at Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC. She is a member of the Assurance Services department and is the leader of the firm’s Distribution and Manufacturing Services practice group.
As the practice leader, Nikki provides leadership and direction for the growth, marketing and technical advancement of the group. She is responsible for establishing policies and procedures and monitoring the technical development and training of the firm’s manufacturing and distribution staff specialists.
Nikki has over 17 years of public accounting experience providing attest services and financial consulting to a variety of clients. She specializes in audits and reviews of manufacturing and wholesale distribution companies, specifically those operating within the wine, food processing and consumer goods industries.
Norm is a member of the Assurance Services Department where his focus is the planning and managing of audit, review and compilation engagements and consulting.
Client and practice specialties include helping closely-held businesses in the Puget Sound region. He works with clients in the construction, real estate development, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, brokerage services, and transportation industries.
Norm is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA as well as currently serving on the School of Business Advisory Board for the University of Washington – Bothell.
Rhett is a Principal in the Assurance Services Department and leads Berntson Porter’s Construction Practice group.
As the leader of the firm’s Construction Practice, Rhett oversees the growth, marketing and technical advancement of the group. He is responsible for establishing policies and procedures and monitoring the technical development and training of the firm’s Construction Practice staff members.
Berntson Porter’s Construction Practice is a cornerstone of the firm and focuses on providing expert services to general contractors and subcontractors located throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Additionally, Rhett oversees audits, reviews and consulting engagements for closely-held businesses in the Puget Sound region, specializing in construction and real estate. Rhett is a frequent contributor to the Construction Deduction blog and an active member of the Puget Sound Chapter of the CFMA (Construction Financial Management Association), where he serves as the chapter’s Membership Committee Chair.
Richard is a member of the Tax Department whose practice encompasses a broad range of tax planning, tax compliance and consulting on financial and business matters for closely held businesses, executives and high net worth individuals.
Client and practice specialties include construction, homebuilding, transportation, wholesale distribution and manufacturing industries, as well as professional services.
Richard is a member of the AICPA and WSCPA. He also served previously as Chairperson of the Construction and Real Estate Industries Committee for the WSCPA as well as Director of Education for the South Sound Chapter of the CFMA.
Stein is a member of the Assurance Services Department where his focus is the planning and management of audited, reviewed and compiled financial statements. His client practice includes working with closely-held businesses and providing owners and their companies with financial and tax planning solutions. Stein manages and coordinates all areas of client service.
With clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, Stein serves a variety of industries, including construction, real estate development, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, and transportation.

Steve is a Principal and serves as the Director of the Assurance Services Department at Berntson Porter and Company. He provides financial reporting and consulting services to a wide variety of closely held businesses in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, specializing in construction, real estate, wholesale distribution and manufacturing and employee benefit plan (EBP) audits.
Steve heads the planning and management of audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statement engagements, internal control reviews, and due diligence engagements including Quality of Earnings reporting. He works with closely-held businesses and their owners to develop financial planning strategies that achieve both short and long-term goals.
Steve is actively involved in numerous organizations, including PrimeGlobal, AICPA and WSCPA.
