City of Seattle Business License Fees to Increase in 2017

In order to fund additional law enforcement priorities, the City of Seattle has passed an ordinance to raise the annual business license fees of some taxpayers beginning in 2017. The ordinance implements a tiered fee structure with fees based on the annual Seattle taxable revenues of the business.

Businesses with annual taxable revenues of $500,000 or more will see their annual fee increase over the next three years. A business with $5 million or more of annual taxable revenue will see their fee increase from $110 to $2,400 by 2019. After 2020, these rates will increase with inflation.
