Rate Changes Proposed by Department of Labor and Industries

The Washington Department of Labor and Industries recently proposed an average 2.7% rate increase for 2014 workers’ compensation premiums.  While 2.7% is an average increase, the rates may vary significantly depending on the different trades.  For example, rates relating to concrete work, sand and gravel production and wallboard installation are expected to increase more than 10% (please note wallboard installation is measured per square foot).  The proposed 2014 rates can be found as follows, courtesy of AGC Washington.
