Voluntary Disclosure Programs
Even the most attentive and conscientious business can at times find that it has not complied with all tax filing requirements in a given jurisdiction. Many states provide an avenue through which businesses can seek tax and penalty relief for prior unpaid liabilities. This process is referred to as voluntary disclosure, which allows a business to come forward anonymously first, reach an agreement with the state, and then register on the basis of that agreement. We can assist our clients by acting as their representative so clients may remain anonymous until the agreement has been signed.
